Schema Markup Checker

Is the structured data on this page readable? Check the JSON-LD for syntax errors, missing @context, misspelled types, wrongly formatted values and commonly expected properties.

We fetch the public page from our server and check it in your browser. The URL is not stored.

What it checks

  • Fix before publishing: JSON that doesn't parse, a missing @context, a type in the wrong case ("product" instead of "Product"), and values in a definitely wrong format: dates that aren't ISO 8601, currencies that aren't 3-letter codes, prices with symbols, unknown availability values, ratings outside their scale, breadcrumb positions that aren't whole numbers, a search action whose placeholder doesn't match.
  • Review: commonly expected properties missing for about 20 common types (Article, Product, Offer, Organization, LocalBusiness, Event, Recipe, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList …), relative URLs, empty values, a type name one or two letters from a known one.
  • Not checked: Microdata and RDFa (detected and counted only). Types outside our list are parsed but their properties aren't checked in detail.

schema.org makes no property mandatory, and whether a search engine shows a rich result is its own decision, so missing properties are a Review, not a Fix — and passing here doesn't mean a rich result will appear.

Example

"price": "$49.99", "priceCurrency": "dollars" in an Offer: the check asks for "49.99" and "USD". A BlogPosting without datePublished is listed for review.

FAQ

Will my page get rich results if everything passes?
Not necessarily. Search engines decide that themselves, using their own requirements and quality signals. Test the page with each search engine's own tool too.
Why is missing structured data only a Review?
Structured data is optional. In the full pre-publish check its absence isn't reported as a problem at all.
Does it validate every schema.org type?
No — it knows the common types and the formats that can be checked without judgement. Other types are parsed and listed.
