Broken Link Checker
Any 404s, broken images or dead external links before this page goes live? Check every link and resource on one page: status, redirects, timeouts and mixed content.
What it checks
- Every
<a href>, image, script, stylesheet, icon, video/audio and iframe in the page HTML — each unique URL once, up to 100 per check (page resources and your own links first). - Fix before publishing: 404 or 410, malformed URLs, server errors on your own site or for a resource, redirect loops on your own site, and insecure
http://scripts, stylesheets or frames on an https page. - Review: redirects on your own links and resources (with the final URL to copy), sites that refused our checker (401, 403, 429, 503), timeouts, domains that didn't resolve,
#linksto ids that don't exist, and http images. - Not checked: links beyond the limit, and links to private or internal addresses (never fetched, for safety).
mailto:andtel:links are counted but not probed.
Example
A page moved from /pricing-2024 to /pricing, but the footer still links to the old address, and a blog image was deleted. The check lists “Broken link (404): /pricing-2024” and “Broken image (404): /img/launch.png”, each with where it appears on the page — fix them, then press Recheck to see BEFORE → AFTER.
FAQ
Does it crawl my whole site?
No. It checks the links on one page. To check another page, enter its URL.
Why is a link I know works marked Review?
Some sites refuse automated requests (for example with 403 or 429) or answer slowly. We don't treat that as broken — open the link in a browser to confirm.
How are links checked?
Our server asks each URL for its status (HEAD, then GET to confirm any error). It doesn't download pages or files.
Why only 100 links?
To keep each check quick and polite to the sites being checked. Anything over the limit is shown as Not checked.
Does it see links added by JavaScript?
No. It reads the HTML the server sends, like most crawlers and link previewers do on their first pass.
