Open Graph Checker
Why does a shared link show no image or the wrong title? Check the Open Graph and Twitter tags, whether the og:image actually loads, and its real size.
What it checks
- og:title, og:description, og:url (and whether it matches the canonical), og:type, twitter:card.
- og:image: absolute URL, the server's response, whether it is really an image, and its pixel size (1200×630 px is the common target).
- A preview built from the tags, using the fetched image.
Example
<meta property="og:image" content="/images/share.png"> is a relative URL, and the file is 400×400 px. The check flags the relative URL (with the absolute version to copy) and notes that the image may be shown small or cropped.
FAQ
I fixed the tags but the app still shows the old preview.
Apps cache previews. Use each platform's own sharing debugger to refresh its cache after you publish the fix.
Is the preview exactly what each app will show?
No — each app has its own layout and rules. The preview is an approximation built from the tags.
Do I need Twitter tags if I have Open Graph?
X/Twitter falls back to og:title, og:description and og:image, but it needs twitter:card to choose the large-image layout.
